We Are Shed.
Shed Bistro first opened its doors in 2012 and quickly became a much-loved eatery on Belfast’s Ormeau Road. In 2018, business partners Jonny and Christina Taylor took over, bringing their shared passion for exceptional food and warm hospitality. Known for its open kitchen and award-winning dining, Shed Bistro has earned recognition such as Café/Bistro of the Year at the LCN Awards 2023, Casual Dining Restaurant of the Year at the YesChef Awards 2024, and most recently the prestigious AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence in 2025. Building on this success, the team opened Shed Grill & Seafood in 2025, right in the heart of Belfast city centre — offering a new take on the Shed experience with a focus on bold flavours from the grill and the very best seafood.
Meet the Owner – Jonny.
Executive chef and owner Jonny is passionate about food, using fresh local ingredients and ensuring consistent quality. With over twenty years in the industry, including a decade in Scotland running award-winning kitchens, Jonny has worked with renowned chefs such as Paul Rankin and Jamie Oliver.


Meet the Owner – Christina.
Christina ensures every guest has an exceptional dining experience. With a background managing high-profile hospitality brands such as Living Ventures, Carluccio’s, and Jamie’s Italian, she brings a relaxed yet professional atmosphere that perfectly complements the food.
Meet the Head Chef – Nate.
Our Head Chef Nate’s career began with an Idex Gold Medal and has since taken him through top kitchens across Europe, including Greenaway (4 Rosettes), The Story (1 Michelin Star), and Les Puits Saint Jacques in France. Closer to home, he led the team at Finn Lough Resort to win the Emerging Irish Cuisine Award and was named Institute of Hospitality Head Chef of the Year 2024 while at the Fitzwilliam Hotel.


Meet the General Manager – Emma.
Emma brings over 15 years of hospitality experience and vibrant leadership. Originally from Glasgow, she has managed food and beverage at the Maldron Hotel and led teams across fine dining and casual settings. Before joining us, she was Manager at The Avenue Cinema, where her creativity and energy set her apart.
